Baseball trading pins are almost as important these days to team members as the game itself. There are entire days in event schedules dedicated to pin trading at little league tournaments across the country. Probably one of the most famous of these tournaments is Cooperstown. While Cooperstown may be the most popular or recognized tournament, the craze surrounding trading pins doesn’t stop there.
Little league teams from across the country travel each year to lesser known baseball tournaments, and you can rest assured they have their own trading pins ready to swap with other teams.
Trading pins can range from simple circular shapes to complex designs with all kinds of add-ons that separate the “men from the boys” in the trading pin world. The basic rule of thumb is – the more unique the trading pin design is – the more desirable it is to other teams. What this translates to for each team member is that if their pin is highly desirable, they can demand 2 or more trading pins in exchange for their one. Sometimes an incredibly unique pin will trade at 5-to-1 or more.
